With its bold branding and even bolder portions, Sandwich Sandwich’s Mark Lane outpost brings a slice of Bristol’s cult sandwich culture to the heart of the City. Touted as the UK’s largest sandwich shop, this cavernous site near Fenchurch Street is a temple to the art of the sarnie—where size, flavour, and flair collide in spectacular fashion.

The menu is a maximalist’s dream. Expect towering stacks like the Southern Fried Chicken with house slaw and creole sauce, or the Coronation Chicken layered with mango chutney and crisp cucumber. Each creation is unapologetically indulgent, with fillings that spill generously from pillowy bread. Sweet-toothed patrons are equally spoilt, with a rotating cast of cheesecakes and crodoughs that have become social media darlings in their own right.

Despite the lunchtime queues—often stretching out the door—the service remains impressively swift and upbeat. The space itself is bright and functional, designed for high turnover rather than lingering. But what it lacks in cosiness, it more than makes up for in culinary bravado.
